Sending Surepass CBT results to Academium SMS
Surepass is Academium's computer-based testing (CBT) application. When your school uses both Academium SMS and Surepass, the two work together: Surepass uses your school's records from SMS, and sends exam scores back into SMS for grading and report cards.
What Surepass takes from Academium SMS
Surepass brings in your school's sessions, terms, classes, sections, subjects, students and staff. The current term's mark components (such as 1st C.A. and Exam) become Surepass assessment types. You do not need to set them up twice.
Sending scores back to Academium SMS
- In Academium SMS, set up the term's exam and its components, as usual. See Setting up an exam.
- In Surepass, choose the SMS exam and the component the scores belong to, such as 1st C.A.
- Review the preview. Surepass shows which students it matched, and converts each score to the component's full mark in SMS.
- Send. Surepass reports how many marks were inserted, updated and skipped, and any errors.
The marks then appear in Academium SMS mark entry, and are graded, positioned and printed on report cards like any other marks.
Good to know
- It works when both run on school servers (they connect to each other by themselves), and when SMS runs on the Academium portal with Surepass on a school server.
- Report cards are always produced by Academium SMS, not Surepass.
- Send scores before the class's results are authorised in Academium SMS, so they are included in positions and report cards.
In the Surepass guides
- Surepass and Academium SMS: what comes across and how the two connect.
- Academium Sync and Importing from Academium SMS: bringing classes, students and staff into Surepass.
- Class Result and Sending results to Academium SMS: preparing and sending scores.
- If your SMS runs only on the Academium portal, Surepass can still keep a copy of your SMS records on the Surepass server. See The Portal tab.
