Positions, comments and authorising results

Once marks are in, each class's results are finished on Exam Center → Marks → Position & Comments.

Working out positions

  1. Choose the exam, class and section.
  2. Academium lists each student with their total marks, percentage, cumulative average, result, previous position and position.
  3. Positions are worked out from each student's percentage. If two students share a position, Academium flags it.
  4. Choose Recompute to renumber the positions from the current percentages, for example after a mark has been corrected.

Adding comments

Type a teacher comment (and a principal or head teacher comment, where allocated) for each student.

Filling in a whole class at once

Choose Auto Fill Comments. Academium fills the comment column for the whole class from your comment templates, using each student's result. It asks you to confirm first, because it replaces existing comments. You can still edit any comment before saving.

Authorising the results

When the class's positions and comments are final, authorise them.

  • The class's marks are frozen: they can no longer be changed on the mark entry page.
  • The class's exam schedule locks.
  • Positions and comments are saved as they stand.

Results cannot be authorised while some subjects are still unmarked.

Authorisation can be reversed. The marks become editable again, and the exam schedule unlocks.

Invalidating results

If a class's results need to be done again from scratch, invalidate them. Teachers then re-enter the marks.

The marks are first copied to the results recycle bin, so they can be restored. You confirm twice, the second time by typing the class name.

Common issues

"Some subjects are still unmarked." Finish entering marks for every subject, or tick Absent or Optional for students who did not take a paper.

"No comment templates matched these percentages." Add comment templates covering those percentages.
