Grading ranges

Grading ranges turn a student's percentage into a grade, such as A or B2. Open Exam Center → Marks → Grading Range.

Setting up grades

For each grade, enter:

  • the grade name, such as A1;
  • the range of percentages it covers, such as 75 to 100;
  • the grade point, if your school uses one;
  • a remark, such as Excellent.

A new school starts with these grades, which you can change: A 70–100 (Excellent), B 60–69 (Very Good), C 50–59 (Good), D 45–49 (Fair), E 40–44 (Pass) and F 0–39 (Fail).

Academium checks your ranges and warns you about any that overlap or leave a gap, so every percentage gets exactly one grade.

Good to know

  • Marks are graded with your school's ranges automatically. Nobody needs to work out grades by hand.
  • Report cards can show the grading scale, so families can see what each grade means. See Printing report cards.
