Scholarships
Scholarships reduce what a student pays. Set up a programme, award it to students, and once approved it is applied to their fees as a discount. Scholarships are under Student Accounting → Scholarship, and need a plan that includes them.
1. Scholarship programmes
Open Scholarship Programs and add a programme:
- Fixed amount or percentage of fees;
- coverage: full or partial;
- active or inactive;
- whether awards need approval, or are approved automatically.
2. Awarding a scholarship
Open Scholarship Awards and award the programme to a student. Choose the amount, the term, how many sessions it lasts (one or several), and add notes.
- If the programme needs approval, the award waits as pending.
- If it is approved automatically, it is applied straight away.
While an award is pending you can still change its amount, term, duration and notes. Once approved, it can no longer be edited.
3. Approving, rejecting and revoking
- Approve: the scholarship is applied to the student's eligible fees as a discount, and records who approved it.
- Reject: the award is not applied.
- Revoke: removes the scholarship's discounts from the student's fees.
Scholarships over several sessions
For future sessions, the scholarship is applied once the student is enrolled and their fees are allocated for that session.
Reports
Scholarship Report lists approved awards for the current session, filtered by class and programme. The dashboard's fees summary shows the total scholarship awarded, and the fee adjustments report includes scholarships.
