Which application should I use?
Academium SMS comes as three applications. Most staff only ever need one of them.
Quick guide

| You work on a shared computer at school, such as the staff room or front desk | Client Edition |
| You have your own laptop or desktop and want to work anywhere, including offline | Individual Edition |
| Your school runs online through the Academium portal, with no school server | Individual Edition |
Client Edition
Choose the Client Edition for computers that several people share.
- It finds your school's server on the school network by itself.
- Several colleagues can stay signed in on the same computer and switch between accounts with their PIN.
- It needs the school's server to be running and reachable.

Individual Edition
Choose the Individual Edition for a computer that belongs to one person.
- It keeps a copy of your school's records on the computer, so it keeps working with no connection at all.
- It sends your changes to the school when it can reach the school server or the Academium portal again.
- It is the only way to use Academium SMS when your school runs online without a school server.

Server Edition
The Server Edition is installed once, on the computer that will hold your school's records. It is usually set up by the school owner or whoever looks after the school's computers. Other staff do not install it.

Where to get the applications
- From the downloads page on the Academium website.
- If your school has a server, from the server itself: its control panel shows a Download page address that any computer on the school network can open to download the Client and Individual editions.
