When a student leaves

When a student leaves before finishing at your school, mark them as left. Their record and history are kept, and they stop appearing in class lists, registers and fee collection.

Marking a student as left

  1. Find the student in the student list and choose Mark as left.
  2. Choose the reason: left (not graduated) or transferred to another school.
  3. Enter the date and a reason.
  4. Academium shows any amount the student still owes. It is written off when you confirm.
Writing off fees is not undone if the student later comes back. Check the balance with your accounts office before you confirm.

If your school uses approval rules for write-offs, the write-off waits for approval.

Students who have left

The Left tab of the student list shows them, filtered by session and class. Their profile is read-only, with a banner showing the date and reason.

Students → Records → Leavers keeps a full history, including any that were reversed.

Bringing a student back

If a student returns, bring them back from the Left tab into a class and section, with a new roll number. Any fees written off when they left stay written off.

A whole family leaving

To mark every child in a family as left at once, use the parent list. See Parents and guardians.

Graduation is different

Students who finish their final year graduate through promotion and join your alumni. See Promoting students.
