What Academium sets up for you

When you create a school, Academium sets up the essentials so you can start straight away. Everything here can be changed later.

From your answers

  • The school owner's account, with the email and password you entered. Use them to sign in to Academium SMS.
  • Your school's details and logo. The one logo is used everywhere: in the app, on printouts and on report cards. You can upload different logos later in School settings.
  • Your classes, in teaching order (Creche, then Nursery, Primary or Basic, JSS and SSS), with their sections.
  • Your assessment pattern: the mark columns, such as First C.A, Second C.A and Exam.

The current session and its terms

Academium creates the session you are in now, following the Nigerian school year from September to August. From January to August, that is the session that started the previous September.

Term Starts Ends
First Term 1 September 15 December
Second Term 5 January 1 April
Third Term 20 April 31 August

Check and adjust the dates to your school's calendar. See Sessions and terms.

Admission numbers

Admission numbers get a prefix from your school's initials. For example, Bright Gate School becomes BGS. Change it under School Settings → Admissions.
