Setting up printables
Printables are the documents Academium prints with your school's look: report cards and student ID cards. You design them once as templates, then reuse them every term. They are under Printables.
1. Resources: fonts, backgrounds and signatures
Open Printables → Resources and upload what your documents will use:
- fonts;
- background artwork;
- signatures and stamps.
Resources are shared by all your templates. Archive ones you no longer use. A picture that a template is using cannot be deleted.
2. Designing a report card template
Open Printable Setup and choose the report card tab.
Layout
Choose what the report card shows:
- Subjects: subject marks only;
- Skills + Subjects: junior skills ratings and subject marks together;
- Skills Only: for learners assessed only on skills.
What appears on it
Turn each item on or off. Each has a note explaining it:
- attendance percentage
- grading scale
- position
- cumulative average
- exam average
- class average
- subject position
- remark
- result
Look and feel
- Choose the background and fonts.
- Set the margins. The top margin is larger by default, to leave room for printed letterhead paper.
- Add up to three signatures or stamps, and set their sizes.
The paper size is chosen when you print.
3. Designing a student ID card template
Choose the ID card tab.
- Start from one of four layouts.
- Arrange the card's front and back in rows. Each row can hold two sections. Drag rows, or use the arrows, to reorder them.
- Choose which blocks appear: school details, the student's identity and photo, enrolment, other details, contact, validity, a signature and a QR code.
A live, to-scale preview updates as you work. ID cards print on A5 landscape paper by default, which you can change.
Who can do what
Each kind of printable has its own setup permission.
