# Taking an exam

Open **Exams** in the menu to see **Available Exams**. Each shows its subject, questions, minutes and marks, and when it starts. Click **Take Exam**.

Taking an exam works exactly like taking a test: the instructions page, the question panel, the tools, breaks and finishing. See [Taking a test](https://helpcenter.academium.com.ng/academium-surepass/article/sp-taking-a-test.md).

## At your seat

Exams are usually taken in the computer lab. Sit at the seat you were given. If you sign in at another seat, Surepass says **Seat Already Assigned**. For some exams, your teacher gives you a **temporary password** to use instead of your usual one. ## After you submit

You see **Exam Submitted!**. Results are made available by your school. Find them later under **Exams → Completed Exams**.

**Past Exams** shows exams you have **Taken** and ones that **Expired**.
