# Subjects

Every question, test and exam belongs to a **subject**. Open **Question Bank → Subjects**.

- **Add Subject**: enter a name and optional description.
- **Auto-populate**: adds the standard Nigerian subject list (WAEC and related bodies). Subjects you already have are skipped, and short names such as "Eng" become full names such as "English Language". Nothing is deleted.
- **Rectify Duplicates**: merges subjects that appear twice.
- **Edit** or **Delete** a subject. A subject with questions cannot be deleted.

## Schools using Academium SMS

If your subjects come from SMS, they show **Managed by Academium** and cannot be edited here. Add or rename them in SMS, then **Sync from Academium**. See [Academium Sync](https://helpcenter.academium.com.ng/academium-surepass/article/sp-academium-sync-overview.md).
