# Sessions

An **academic session** is your school year, such as 2026/2027. Open **School Settings → Sessions**.

## Adding a session

1. Click **Add Session**.
2. Enter the **Name**, **Start Date** and **End Date**.
3. Tick **Set as Active Session** for the current one.

**Auto-generate** creates a session with its terms in one go; the session and current term are set as active for you.

A session with terms cannot be deleted.

## Schools using Academium SMS

Sessions show **Managed by Academium** and are updated from SMS every hour. Change them in SMS.
