# Getting started with the Individual Edition

The **Individual Edition** is Surepass for your own computer at home. Students practise, parents follow their children, and independent teachers teach their own students.

## Install it

Download **Surepass Individual Edition** from the Academium downloads page, open the file and follow the installer. If you are at a school with a Surepass server, you can also install it from the server's download page.

## Which way do you sign in?

| You are… | Sign in with |
| --- | --- |
| A student, parent or teacher with your own account | Your username, email or phone, and password. No account yet? Click **Create account**. |
| A school or centre student practising at home | **Login with school/centre account**: your school or centre code, your username and your 4-digit login code |
| A child whose parent set up their account | **Sign in with a child code**: the login code your parent gave you |

## What it does without the internet

The Individual Edition keeps a copy of your questions and your work on your computer, so you can keep practising when the internet is poor. It saves your progress to your online account whenever it can. Some things, such as changing your password, need the internet.
