# Finding your way around

## The menu

The menu on the left lists everything your account can use. It is different for each account type. Items with an arrow open a short list, for example **Question Bank** opens **All Questions**, **Flagged Questions**, **Subjects**, **Topics** and **Tags**.

During an exam, students' menus are trimmed to **Tests** and **Exams** until the paper is done.

## The top bar

- **Academic Period** (schools): shows the current session and term. Choose another to look back at an earlier term. **Active** marks the current one.
- **Year** (centres): switch between your centre's years. **Manage Years & Batches** opens Batches.
- **Your name**: opens **Profile Settings**, **Theme** (light, dark or system) and **Logout**.
- Students see their **XP** balance and rank next to their name.

## Tours

Many pages have a short guided **Tour**. Look for the **Tour** or **?** button at the top of the page.
