# Creating an account

1. Open the Individual Edition and click **Create account**.
2. Under **I am a**, choose **Student**, **Parent** or **Teacher**.
3. Enter your **first name** and **last name**, and choose a **username**. Surepass suggests some.
4. Enter your **email address**. Surepass sends a **6-digit code** to check it.
5. Parents also enter a **phone number**.
6. If someone gave you a **referral code**, enter it.
7. Choose a **password** of at least 8 characters and enter it again.
8. Click **Create account**.
9. Enter the 6-digit code from your email and click **Verify**.

## Your learning profile

The first time you sign in, Surepass asks a few questions so it can suggest the right practice:

- **Students:** your class level, your section, and the exams you are preparing for (for example WAEC or JAMB).
- **Parents:** the class levels, sections and exams your children are preparing for.
- **Teachers:** the same, for your students.

You can change these later under **Preferences**.

## Common problems

**I did not get the code.** Check your spam folder. Click **Resend code** when the timer allows.

**"This email address can't be used."** Use a different, real email address.
