A **comprehension** is a passage, story or diagram that several questions share. During a test, the passage shows above each of its questions.

## Creating a passage

1. In **All Questions**, click **Add Comprehension**.
2. Enter a **Title**, then the **Content/Passage** and any **Instructions**, for example "Read the passage below and answer the questions that follow".
3. Choose the **Subject**, and optionally the **Class**, **Exam Type** and **Year**.
4. Add an **Attachment** if needed: a picture or PDF, up to 5 MB.
5. Tick **Active (available for use)** and save.

**Where the picture appears:** write "shown above" or "diagram above" in the passage to show it before the passage, or "shown below" / "diagram below" to show it after. Otherwise it appears above.

## Adding questions to the passage

Open the passage and click **Add Question**. Questions added here are linked to the passage.

The **Comprehensions** tab lists all passages with their questions.
