# Centre setup checklist

Work through these in order after your first sign-in.

1. **Subjects.** Check your subjects under **Question Bank → Subjects**. **Auto-populate** adds the standard Nigerian subject list.
2. **Years, exam types and batches.** Under **Groups → Batches**, create the academic year, the exam types you prepare students for, and your batches (for example "WAEC 2026, Morning"). See [Batches](https://helpcenter.academium.com.ng/academium-surepass/article/sp-batches.md).
3. **Families.** Under **Groups → Families**, add households so siblings are grouped together. See [Families](https://helpcenter.academium.com.ng/academium-surepass/article/sp-families.md).
4. **Staff.** Add your teachers, admins and accountants under **Staff**. See [Centre staff](https://helpcenter.academium.com.ng/academium-surepass/article/sp-centre-staff.md).
5. **Students.** Add or import students and put them in batches. See [Centre students](https://helpcenter.academium.com.ng/academium-surepass/article/sp-centre-students.md).
7. **Computer lab.** Create your lab rooms and lay out the seats under **Lab Allocation**. See [Lab Rooms](https://helpcenter.academium.com.ng/academium-surepass/article/sp-lab-rooms.md).
8. **Questions.** Let the question bank finish downloading, and add your own questions.
9. **A first test.** Create a practice test, add questions and assign it to a batch. See [Centre tests](https://helpcenter.academium.com.ng/academium-surepass/article/sp-centre-tests.md).
9. **Give students their sign-in details.** Use **Export Credentials** on the Students page.
