# Transport

The **Transportation** module keeps track of your school vehicles and which students use them, and adds transport charges to each student's invoice. It needs a plan that includes it.

## Setting up

### 1. Vehicles

Open **Transportation → Transport Vehicle** and add each vehicle with its **capacity**, **driver** and **insurance renewal date**. Vehicles whose insurance has lapsed, or is due within 30 days, are highlighted.

### 2. Transport fee plans

Open **Transport Fees Setup** and add the charges for transport. You can include a **late fee**, as a fixed amount or a percentage, charged once or repeatedly while unpaid.

## Assigning students

Open **Fee Assignment**:

1. Choose the **term** and **class**.
2. Only students **without a vehicle this term** are listed.
3. Choose the vehicle and fee plan, tick the students, and save.

Each student can have **one transport assignment per term**. If some assignments in a batch cannot be saved, Academium tells you which.

## Charges and payment

Transport charges appear on the student's invoice under their own heading, with their own payments and balance. They can be paid with school fees, or from the [family wallet](https://helpcenter.academium.com.ng/academium-sms/article/sms-family-wallet.md).

The student's profile shows their vehicle, driver and the driver's phone number. [Search](https://helpcenter.academium.com.ng/academium-sms/article/sms-searching.md) for a student or class and use the **transport** shortcut to get there quickly.

## The allocation report

Open **View Allocation** to see who is assigned to which vehicle. Filter by session, term, class, section and vehicle. It shows the driver, the amount and the balance, and can be printed or exported to Excel or CSV.

You can remove assignments in bulk from the report, **except those already paid for**.

## Common issues

**A student is not in the assignment list.** They already have a vehicle this term. Check the allocation report.

**I cannot remove a student's transport.** It has been paid for. Paid assignments cannot be removed.
