# Importing marks

If marks were kept in a spreadsheet, import them instead of typing them in. Importing marks needs a paid plan.

## Importing

1. Open **Exam Center → Marks → Import Marks**.
2. Choose the exam, class, section and subject.
3. Download the template. It comes **already filled in** with the students.
4. Enter each student's marks and save the file.
5. Upload it.

## When import is refused

Academium will not import marks for results that have been **authorised**, or for a **locked** term. Ask your school admin to reverse the authorisation or unlock the term first.

## Common issues

**Some marks are refused.** A mark may be higher than the component's full mark, or a student may not be in that class.

**Import is not available.** Importing marks needs a paid plan.
