**Allocation** charges a fee template to students for a term. Once allocated, the fees appear on each student's invoice. Open **Student Accounting → Fees Allocation**.

## Allocating

1. Choose the **class**, **section** and **term**.
2. Choose the **fee template**.
3. Choose the **due date**.
4. Tick the students to charge. Academium shows how many students there are and how many already have payments.
5. Choose **Allocate**.

Students already allocated **a different template for this term** are listed separately and left out, so nobody is charged twice.

## Allocating when you admit a student

The admission form can allocate the class's fees as you admit a student, so new students do not need allocating separately. See [Admitting a student](https://helpcenter.academium.com.ng/academium-sms/article/sms-admitting-a-student.md).

## Removing an allocation

Untick a student and choose **Remove**, or use **Remove** on their row. Academium asks you to confirm.

## Reminders

**Catch Up** reminds you when a term starts without fees allocated.

## Common issues

**"This term is locked, so allocations cannot be changed."** Ask the School Owner to unlock the term for a while. See [Sessions and terms](https://helpcenter.academium.com.ng/academium-sms/article/sms-sessions-and-terms.md).

**"Select a due date before saving."** Choose the due date, then allocate.

**A student is missing from the list.** They may already be allocated a different template this term (see the separate list), or not be enrolled in that class and section.
